By now, the controls community is aware that Woodward is no longer just a governor company.  The line has been expanded to cover new emerging generation technologies providing alternative solutions to traditional applications.  As a result, there is often more than one control solution suitable for any given application.  Canadian Governor & Control Systems can provide the right control, with the right features at the right price.

Repair Services

Replacement/Exchange

Replacement/Exchange is a premium program designed for the user who is in need of immediate service.  This service allows you to request and receive a like-new replacement unit in minimum time (usually shipped within 24 hours providing a suitable unit is available at the time of the request) thereby reducing your costly downtime. 

In the event of an unexpected or scheduled outage, this service provides a valuable alternative to a new replacement control unit.  You will be invoiced the flat rate replacement/exchange charge plus a core charge at the time of shipment.  When you replace your faulty governor with the like-new replacement, return the field unit to us within 30 days and we will issue you a credit for the core charge.  This is a flat-rate structured program and includes our standard product warranty.

Flat Rate Repair

Flat Rate Repair is available for the majority of standard products in the field.  This program offers you repair service for your products with the advantage of knowing what your cost will be.  All repair work carries our full standard product warranty on all replaced parts.

Flat Rate Remanufacture

Remanufacture is very similar to the Flat Rate Repair option in that the unit will be returned to you in "like-new" condition and carries our full standard product warranty.  The control must be inspected prior to providing a quotation.  This option is applicable to mechanical products only.

We Specialize in Generator Control Panel Retrofits

Canadian Governor & Control Systems has had great success updating existing industrial systems with the new GCP series of generator control panels from Woodward.  The GCP line differs from traditional power management controls, since they offer a way of directly interfacing with 99.99% of the governors and voltage regulators out there with a single part number. 

Have a unit equipped with and integral electronic governing system like a JDEC, DDEC or ADEM control?  No problem - we interface directly!  Have some old speed set motor on your mechanical governor but want to update the engine protection and controls to remotely monitor your application from a control room?  No problem.  Have a pocket pc and want to monitor your application wirelessly from the palm of your hand?  We've done it.  Have a number of remote unmanned sites that you need to remotely monitor and start with redundant interfaces?  You get the picture - we can do that too.  Even if your voltage or frequency regulation system has remote bias capabilities, then it's very likely we can interface with it, making Canadian Governor & Control Systems the preferred choice for retrofitting "that old control panel".

Engineering Services

Canadian Governor & Control Systems offers a variety of after-sales support for Woodward products.  For these services you can contact us by telephone, by email, or through our website.  Technical support can assist you with technical questions or problem-solving during normal business hours. Emergency assistance is also available during non-business hours by calling our office and stating the urgency of your problem to the on-call personnel.

Field Service

Our field engineers are experienced with the application, installation and operation of both Woodward and the non-Woodward related equipment with which our products interface.   For field service engineering assistance, please contact us via telephone, email or use the tools on our website to help solve your problem.

Customer Training

Canadian Governor & Control Systems offers theoretical and practical training on many Woodward products.  Customer training is available on-site at your convenience or in our Mississauga, Ontario offices. Two types of classes are available to meet your training needs:

• Custom training courses for specific controls, applications, and products can be performed on most controls manufactured by Woodward. The on-demand custom training can be delivered at Canadian or at your site. To request custom training, please complete the Request for Custom Training Worksheet and email it to the Canadian Training Coordinator. We will review your request and confirm whether we can do the training for you, as well as send a formal quote for training.

• Standard training courses cover a combination of Woodward controls as used in practical situations. In these courses, Woodward controls are explained with the background of a particular application. The listed training courses are based on a careful selection of all Woodward products and are meant to be beneficial to a wide range of customers. 

Class size of the courses can be a small a single learner but is limited to a maximum of six to provide students with better opportunities for learning and hands-on experience. To complement a class, visual aids, handouts, and publications are used. Attendees may keep the training material provided during the class. (Unfortunately some unique or older Woodward product training classes may have limited material availability.  Custom training course development for your equipment may be required.)
